Any Pudding lovers here? Most of the caramel pudding is made of brown sugar along with other ingredients, I decided to go slightly out of ordinary by using Gula Melaka (also called palm sugar). The result? It tastes good with strong aroma of gula melaka. However, Gula Melaka is an acquired taste.. probably not everyone would like it. If you like the taste of gula melaka, you would like this pudding. You can simply replace Gula Melaka with Brown Sugar. Try it out and let me know what you think!
- 60 g Butter
- 80 g gula melaka (Palm Sugar). Or you can use brown sugar. If you prefer to have less sugar, you can reduce the sugar consumption to about 60 g.
- 120 g milk
- 100 g flour
- 240 g boiling water
- 60 g Butter
- 80 g Gula Melaka sugar (palm sugar). Or you can use brown sugar. If you prefer to have less sugar, you can reduce the sugar
Place butter and sugar in the bowl and cream 15 sec/ speed 4
Add milk and flour and mix for 5 sec/ speed 7
Pour into a oven proof dish or individual oven proof dishes.
Prepare sauce by adding water, butter and sugar to Thermomix mixing bowl and cooking 5 mins/ 80C/ speed 4.
Pour sauce over the top of the pudding, using the back of a spoon and being careful not to disturb the pudding.
Transfer to oven and bake for 35 mins on 180 degrees.
Serve while hot with icecream or banana if desired. You can also refrigerate it for a few hours before enjoying this dessert!
