Shortbread Biscuits

  • 100 g sugar
  • 200 g butter, cut into pieces
  • 300 g flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla essence



  • Place all ingredients into mixing bowl, knead 40 sec/ speed 5 with aid of spatula. Form dough into a ball shape, place in a bowl and cover.
  • Preheat oven at 180 c.
  • Cut dough ball into 2 equal pieces and roll out 2 square sheets. Wrap the dough and allow the dough to rest in the freezer for 30 mins before using.
  • Take the dough out from freezer. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters, place them with some space in between onto a baking tray covered with baking paper. Bake in preheated oven at 180 C for 12 mins until golden. Allow to cool completely before decorating or storing in an air-tight container.
